Doctor by the Universidad de Jaén with the thesis Colonos y propietarios de las nuevas poblaciones de Sierra Morena durante la Edad Moderna 2019. Supervised by Dr. José Miguel Delgado Barrado.

Born in La Carolina. He studied at the Instituto de Bachillerato Martín Halaja and the Conservatorio Elemental de Música, both in La Carolina. Diploma in Teaching, specialising in Music Education, from the Sagrada Familia University School in Úbeda in 2000 and Degree in Humanities from the University of Jaén in 2003. Doctorate in Heritage 'Modern History' (2019). Extraordinary Doctorate awarded by the decision of the Vice-Rectorate for Coordination and Quality of Teaching of the University of Jaén on 25 November 2022. Associate Professor of Modern History at the University of Jaén, Department of Anthropology, Geography and History. Member of the research group 'HUM155': Laboratorio de Experimentación Espacial (LABe2)'. Official chronicler of Aldeaquemada (2009), Navas de Tolosa (2011), Santa Elena (2015) and Montizón (2017). Research interests include Bourbon reformism, new populations and the Enlightenment.
