Abstract

The objective of the study is to define the profile of the inclusive teacher of elementary school of educational institutions of the District of Cartagena, Colombia, with the participation of 91 teachers from six official schools, a mixed design supported by quantitative and qualitative approaches and the application of a ad hoc questionnaire for teachers and an orienting guide for questions to focus groups of teachers and support professionals specialized in students with disabilities or exceptional abilities. The results show the new profile of the teacher considering the variables training and competences and the pedagogical-didactic, psychopedagogical, neuro-psychopedagogical and psychiatry disciplinary approaches for learning and mental health, influencing the transformation of the training process through applied knowledge , humanistic and coexistence skills, guaranteeing the placement of students with and without disabilities in regular classrooms, without inferring their academic performance and generating social benefits for all students.
