Víctor Luis Gutiérrez Castillo is a Spanish academic, specialist in Public International Law and International Relations. He is actively committed to excellence in education and training in this field, thus contributing to the understanding of international relations in contemporary society. In addition to his teaching work in universities and specialized centers, he has developed an extensive research career, supported by prestigious publications and the provision of advisory services to various national and foreign, public and private organizations. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of International Public Law and International Relations at the University of Jaén (Spain). Member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. Member of the Scientific Committee of INDEMER (Institut Économique du Droit de la Mer de Monaco). Founding member of AssIDMer(Association International du Droit de la Mer) Professor of Master in Spanish and Latin American Law from the Université Paris Ouest-Nanterre in Paris, the Master in International Relations from the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) He was Visiting professor at the Université de Bordeaux, Universidad Oriental de la República del Uruguay, Universidad Autónoma de Colombia, Università LUISS Guido de Roma and Università degli Studi di Messina. His main lines of research are the international law of the sea and the international protection of human rights, and he develops these as Coordinator in the framework of national and international R&D projects, as for example, in: The SEJ-399 research group of the Scientific Information System of Andalusia (SICA) The European project H2020-MSCA-IF-2019 Marine renewable energies in areas beyond national jurisdiction: legal answers to new environmental and governing challenges
