Doctor by the Universidad de Jaén with the thesis Tecnologías gráficas, de análisis del terreno y posicionamiento espacial aplicadas al estudio y la gestión de la fauna silvestre en ecosistemas mediterraneos 2024. Supervised by Dr. Concepción Azorit, Dr. Miguel Ángel Rubio Paramio, Dr. Antonia Oya Lechuga.
Since I was hired by the University of Jaén in 1996, my research activity has been developed mainly in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). As a member of the research group SIGJAEN (TIC159) I have participated in numerous research projects, including the one granted by the Ministry of Science and Technology: Creation of a comprehensive geographic information system aimed at the modernization and technological adaptation of the olive and olive oil sectors in the area of the denomination of origin sierra (1FD97-0865). Collaborator since 2006 with the Andalusian Center of Iberian Archaeology, currently the Andalusian Institute of Iberian Archaeology, of which I am a member. In outstanding projects such as BAECULA and BAECULA II (National Plan of I+D, of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía). In this aspect the three-month research stay at the University of Leicester (Leicester, UK) at the invitation of Professor Mark Gillings of the School of Archaeology and Ancient History of this university, and a person of renowned prestige in archaeological research and application of GIS technology. During this stay I was fortunate, due to the line in which I develop my academic activity of representation and graphic design, mainly three-dimensional, to participate in the virtual reconstruction of the resting place of the mortal remains of King Richard III of England invited by the researchers of ULAS (University of Leicester Archaeological Services). Since 2017, I have worked with Dr. Azorit in the framework of the research group Biodiversity and Sustainable Development (RNM-175) on topics related to ecology and biology, within the framework of my doctoral thesis that is oriented to study the relationships between the topographic surface and its three-dimensional morphology with the biological and ecological aspects of the species that inhabit them, especially focused on the Sierra Morena area and species such as deer, fallow deer, wild boar and others. In this context, work related to monitoring, routes and determination of animal habitats has been developed. Since 2018 I have also been developing research work with Dr. Delgado Barrado, providing geomatic and topographic support the research work of the group "Laboratorio de Experimentación Espacial (HUM155)" to which I currently belong of analysis of historical processes from a multidisciplinary perspective.
