Abstract

Training citizens to understand science, and to reflectively participate about its processes and products, is an essential objective of science education. Therefore, the design of a training proposal is presented, aimed at improving teaching skills for teaching the nature of science and critical thinking, following the theoretical framework of the pedagogical content knowledge, as well as the results of its development with students of the Primary Education Degree. To evaluate its design, quantitative and qualitative analyses are used, which offer a vision of its implementation in the real context of initial professional teacher training, and its effect on the variables under study. The results show the contribution of the proposal to the knowledge and believes of future teachers to address the planning teaching of the nature of science and critical thinking in scientific contexts.
