Abstract

Learning through group play is a methodology that is gaining importance in non-compulsory stages,as is the case at the University. Studies such as those of such have shown that the use of this type ofmethod in the university environment can promote a better integration of the contents in the long-termmemory of the students. The present work includes a study carried out at the University of Almería du-ring the 2021/2022 academic year whose main objective is to favor the acquisition of literacy skills bythe students of the master’s degrees through gamification. The present work included a proposal for agamified activity carry out at University of Almeria during the 2021/2022 academic course, whose maingoal is to favor the acquisition of literacy skills by the students of the master’s degrees through gamifi-cation. The gamification experience consisted of carrying out a gamified activity that involved makingsummaries of the texts they read and preparing group essays based on said summaries. The resultsshow that the students performing the gamified tasks in groups improved their final performance levelin the elaboration of individual essays with respect to the individual essay they carried out during thePre-test phase. In conclusion, it is proposed as a prospective replicate this work in other universitieswith larger samples.
