Abstract

This work is situated within the frame­ work of research in text understanding. We make an attempt to study how extra­textual modifications, like the introduc­tion of an outline, paragraphs entitling and underlining main ideas, affect its memorization and comprehension. The analysis of this variable is made studying the amount of main ideas and concepts remembered by examinees in two control situations.
