The Zegrí Fm records the sedimentation accumulated in the former stages of the syn-rift phase that took place in southern Iberia during the Jurassic. Pelagic limestones and marls were deposited everywhere, being the thickness accumulated the main difference from one to another succession. Two main types of faults (N70E and N-S as approximate strike, respectively) played an important role giving way to thickness changes, which could be used to make an approach to the fault and block size. Nevertheless, difficulties are found from the Betic's thrust-fold tectonic and the relatively scarce knowledge of the biostratigraphy of the formation. The general absence of gravity deposits related to the main fault-block boundaries, invite us to think in a subtle submarine tectonic relief in these former stages of the syn-rift phase of the Betic's Jurassic.
