The present paper is the result of an investigatión on beliefs towards study among students of 2th ( E.S.O. ) (14 years old, second course of compulsory secondary). The need to overcome a too restrictive concept education, often limited to the cognitive component is justified. Process used in the applied pedagogical progra me are described, as well as their reason. Finally, the main conclusión of the investigation are explained: 1. The application of a pedagogical programme based on participation techniques, cooperation has proved to be useful the formation of positive beliefs towards study. 2.- The change of belief towards study has provoked a better academical results in the students group. 3.- The obtained results make it clear that it is possible to apply pedagogical programmes to form and change beliefs without a substantial change in the school organisation of curriculum
