Zusammenfassung
Calcarenites and calcareous sandstones from the Albian outcropping in the Serreta Larga and Sierra de La Puerta outcrops, in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia, are interpreted as storm deposits. The two outcrops are analyzed and compared within a proxilal/distal framework of an outer platform environment. More proximal storm and probable tide-influenced deposits occur in the eastern part of the Serreta Larga in respect of the Sierra de La Puerta outcrops. However, the interpretation as storm-deposits of the calcarenites and calcareous sandstones of the Sierra de La Puerta outcrop, has an important palaeogeographic significance which allow to assing this outcrop to the Prebetic Zone.
