Abstract
The following research describes interculturality as a key competence for coexistence in an increasingly globalized society. lt is a topic of interest for the field of Spanish Higher Education as well as for the European Union. lt is proposed to know, the perception that students of the degree of Social Education of the University of Almeria have, in relation to competences and intercultural sensitivity. The methodology used is quantitative, descriptive, ex post-facto, explanatory, transversal modality. The techniques used are the intercultural sensitivity scale (ISS) and the intercultural competences measurement questionnaire (MCI). lts development made it possible to demonstrate the need to integrate intercultural competences more explicitly into the curricula. As a new social challenge for the education of students, from the perspective of cultural diversity, equality, inclusion, respect and social cohesion, in contemporary societies.
