Abstract

This paper claims the need to research and revitalize teaching epistemology as a problem solving source, an issue that will be addressed from the type of relationship outlined between theory and practice. How this relationship is understood will be shown by proposing three traditional conducts when teaching: applied, creative and reflexive. The applied tradition explains the link between theory and practice in a lineal and unidirectional way.The creative tradition enhances the importance of the practical scope as the basis towards discovering sense,awarding it a clear superiority over the theoretical scope.Finally,the reflexive tradition implies an attempt to harmonize the best from the preceding ones and believes in an interdependent or circulatory relation between theory and practice.
