Gustavo Eduardo Nofuentes Garrido (born in Jaén, Spain, 1967) received a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) in 1993. Then, he completed the doctoral program in PV Solar Energy at the Solar Energy Institute -Instituto de Energía Solar- in this University, from which he received a Ph. D. in 2001. He has been an associate professor with tenure at the University of Jaén ( Electronics Engineering and Automation Department) from 2003 to 2019, when he became Full Professor. He has co-authored 40+ papers published in journals gathered in the Science Journal Citation Reports 2023, several book chapters and is a regular reviewer for 20 JCR journals. He has taken part in 25+ research projects funded by the World Bank and EC, Spanish, Peruvian and autonomous Andalusian bodies. His fields of research mainly include (a) PV module outdoor behaviour modelling (monofacial and bifacial) and outdoor assessment of PV technologies long term performance decline (b) spectral impact on PV and (c) Economic analysis of PV.
