Résumé
The proliferation of physical inactivity and the increase of sedentary lifestyles in children, de-rived from early access to new technologies, raises concerns about possible impacts on cardio-vascular and mental health. This study aims to analyse the levels of physical activity, self-con-cept and life satisfaction of third cycle primary school students, exploring possible correlations between these variables. The sample included 171 students aged 9 to 13 years (M=10.92±0.75). We used the AF-5 questionnaire to assess self-concept, APALQ to measure physical activity, SWLS for life satisfaction and an ad-hoc questionnaire for socio-demographic aspects. It was observed that boys exhibited higher levels of emotional and family self-concept than girls. In addition, arelationship was established between physical activity levels and self-concept, high-lighting that those with an active lifestyle showed higher values in academic, social and family self-concept. Likewise, those with higher life satisfaction had a better self-concept in academic, social, family and physical aspects. Finally, associations between different dimensions of self-concept were identified´.
