Abstract

Pelvic floor dysfunctions in the female population have significant prevalence within the general population. While not severe issues, they greatly influence the quality of life of women who suffer from them. This thesis evaluated the quality and psychometric properties of questionnaires for assessing pelvic floor dysfunctions translated into Spanish. A questionnaire was identified that encompassed various pelvic floor dysfunctions but was not yet translated or validated in Spanish, leading to its cross-cultural adaptation and subsequent validation. Finally, an observational part was conducted using this questionnaire as an additional tool in measurements taken from a group of runners. This aimed to evaluate how running technique and footwear used for this activity affect the strength of their pelvic floor.
