Abstract

This thesis has the following objectives: Review the publications the effects of of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on muscle strength and obesity, observing the effectiveness of HIIT to improve these parameters in older and middle-aged adults. Study he associations between the SARC-F questionnaire and the variables associated with physical and mental health. It was observed that the SARC-F is an independent predictor of the risk of falls in middleaged and older postmenopausal women living in the community. Study the effects of HIIT on different health indicators in postmenopausal women at risk of sarcopenia. The HIIT significantly improves the percentage of body fat, the physical domain of the SF-36 questionnaire, the quality of sleep, through the PSQI total score, and depressive symptoms. It also improves confidence in balance, fear of falling and anxiety, but not significantly.
