The Spanish State offers to religious groups the possibility of acquire legal personality through registration in the Registry of Religious Entities. For years, the Scientology has tried being in the Registry, and has been always denied his request. Until the judgement of the Supreme Court of October 11, 2007 has revoked the refusal. The situation has changed since 2001, when the Constitutional Court limited faculties the Registry of Religious Entities used for considering registration applications. Since then, the position of the courts has changed, and its decisions are now more favourable to entities whose application had been rejected.
