Abstract

Getting to manufacture plastic parts within the required injection parameters, with the lowest possible part weight, lower energy consumption and in the shortest cycle time should be the objective set from the initial stages; which makes this parameter "cycle time" one of the fundamental indicators of the efficiency of the process. In order to improve the problem raised, this doctoral thesis is presented, focused on being able to manufacture plastic parts within the required injection parameters, with the lowest possible weight of parts, less energy consumption, less cycle time and with the possibility of manufacturing it taking into account the characteristics and restrictions that the additive manufacturing process presents today, regardless of the material used. In this context, the purpose of the doctoral thesis is, firstly, to substantially simplify the needs for means and knowledge associated with the design phase of a cooling system for an injection mold and secondly, to significantly reduce costs production derived both from the inputs used in the production process, and from the quality passed on in number of "scraps" and referred to the manufactured product.
