Abstract

This thesis focuses on the presentation and study of a DC converter based on impedance source. As well as, in the coupling of several energy sources and storage systems, using two bidirectional converters as the one proposed for the coupling of two batteries and three unidirectional converters for the coupling of sources. The converter has been studied analytically, to understand the behavioral patterns depending on its component elements and their switching, in order to obtain an optimal design with pre-set objectives. All the switching stages in both operating modes (step-up and step-down), voltage gain, voltage and current stress have been analyzed. The most significant contributions of this converter are: Good converted power ratio, high voltage gain obtained with few devices, almost linear response of output voltage with respect to duty cycle.
