The inventory, study, and dissemination are the classic sequence of the archaeological study which is proposed in this Doctoral Dissertation so as to propose an interactive cataloguing which may offer the new possibilities of register and analysis in archaeological research generated by digital tools. The 3D documentation of findings from the Cástulo Archaeological Ensemble, in Jaén (Spain), and the Qubbet el-Hawa necropolis, in Aswan (Egypt), has been carried out from ethical practice based on an exhaustive study of art and thanks to our own methodology design for each aforementioned project. A second contribution is the protocol proposal for the metadata of archaeological 3D models about material culture, for any research project supervised from the University of Jaén, which offers interoperability with international digital repositories. Successful museographic and didactic experiences are designed and developed in the last part of the PhD Thesis, which proves that the 3D archaeological collections are powerful tools for public dissemination of research results.
