El lenguaje jurídico del reformismo borbónico: El caso del Fuero de fundación de las Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena de 1767

Abstract

The legal language of Bourbon reformism: the case of the foundation charter (Fuero) of the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena has the objective of analyzing in a methodological key applied to Bourbon reformism, and not exclusively to the reform, the multiple actions in planning, development and implementation in progress of the first steps of the project of the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena from 1767.We intend to carry out this analysis work starting from a data mining of thedifferent archives where the primary documentary sources are deposited, often dispersed in sections, used by historiography, but without an adequate chronological and interpretive order.First of all, we note that the state of the historiographical question has advanced notably in the case of the Nuevas Poblaciones de Andalucía (with capital in La Carlota), leaving the case of the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena (with capital in La Carolina) more abandoned. In this sense, the charter (Fuero) of 1767 homogenizes both territories, since its application was of a global nature, although we have identified some articles specifically linked to one or the other space.Through our reflections and analysis will pass personalities from the Court,from the Superintendence of the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena y Andalucía and from the places and sites chosen to house the settlers; that is, from the royal ministers and officials such as Miguel de Múzquiz y Goyeneche, Pedro Rodríguez de Campomanes, Pablo Jerónimo Grimaldi y Pallavicini, marqués de Grimaldi, Pablo Abarca de Bolea Conde de Aranda, the contractor Juan Gaspar de Thürriegel, the superintendent Pablo de Olavide y Jáuregui and some men you trust.
