Developing new products within the frame of concurrent engineering allows for the optimisation of the trinomial group: quality, costs and development periods. In order to improve product development processes we can take several initiatives aimed at the following: on the one hand, enhancing the management of the process itself and the staff involved in it and, on the other hand, boosting the efficiency seen in the ‘product-process’ concept of production. Our article enumerates a series of proposals related to the optimisation of the ‘product-process’ concept. Implementing these initiatives fosters obtaining quality products and consequently, increasing productivity all at once. The trinomial group mentioned above must be understood as one of the main elements propitiating these results.
