Abstract

Understanding English Texts is a workbook addressed at undergraduates receiving training in English text linguistics. Devised with a functional orientation, this book features exercises and tasks on a variety of topics which offer practice on the essentials of textual analysis. The activities contained here are all based on real-life texts and lay emphasis on contextualized and authentic situations. This workbook is therefore an effective and valuable supplement to more theoretical resources in university and advanced-level courses of English linguistics.
