Investigación sobre comunicación en COVID-19 y principales hallazgos

Resumen

Se revisan las investigaciones realizadas por UC3M MediaLab durante el proyecto PredCov, sobre la comunicación durante la pandemia. Se llevó a cabo una encuesta nacional con 1,800 personas para examinar el comportamiento de consumo de información sobre la pandemia en España. Los resultados indicaron que ideología y edad son factores determinantes que influyen en la elección de distintas fuentes de información, así como en la percepción hacia las vacunas. Adicionalmente, la encuesta reveló que las principales fuentes de información consultadas durante la pandemia fueron los medios tradicionales y las autoridades sanitarias. En relación con la cobertura periodística, se observó un enfoque destacado en las vacunas contra la COVID-19, caracterizado por un tono mayormente positivo. Destacó la publicación de más reportajes en profundidad sobre vacunas en comparación con el periodo pre-pandemia. Asimismo, se examinó el discurso público en Twitter en relación con las vacunas, identificando un mayor número de contenidos asociados a una actitud positiva hacia la vacunación. Se extendió el análisis al discurso público en Twitter en español, francés, inglés y portugués, durante las crisis relacionadas con la vacuna de AstraZeneca y la variante Omicron. El proyecto cerró la brecha en investigación de la comunicación sobre vacunas en España.
