Resumo

The exponential evolution of technology has transformed the way we work and train in the educational landscape. For this reason, the development of Digital Teaching Competence is an essential aspect in today’s society. The objective of this study is to recognise the level of digital competence of the teaching staff in order to allow for an in-depth reflection on this competency framework by providing them with a way of self-assessing both their strengths and areas for improvement. The population sample to which the quantitative survey was applied consisted of 43 teachers divided into the educational levels of infant, primary, secondary and baccalaureate. Through the analysis of the extracted data, interesting results were obtained, such as the low use of digital assessment elements, the deficient training in online courses and the lack of knowledge about digital safety. Finally, several conclusions were reached, such as the need for teacher training and the individualistic learning and use of ICT resources and knowledge by the teaching staff.
