Resumen

The aim of the study was to analyze the psychometric properties of CHEXI in a Spanish preschool population, as well as to relate the test results to several sociodemographic variables such as sex and age. A total of 173 children (3 to 6 years old) from schools in southern Spain participated. The CHEXI scale showed good internal consistency (Omega hierarchical=.85). The CHEXI showed adequate test-retest reliability with intraclass correlation coefficients of ICC=.930 (95% confidence interval: .856-.966) for working memory and ICC=.933 (95% confidence interval: .863-.967) for inhibition. The convergent validity analysis with the BRIEF-P yields significant correlations between the different factors of both tests. Finally, boys scored higher than girls in memory work, inhibition and emotional control. In conclusion, the analyses of the Spanish version of the CHEXI adapted to the preschool population show adequate psychometric properties of the instrument.
