Abstract
According to recent research and own experience, the directive function is considered relevant in the development of educational institutions. Many studies show the effects of the direction upon teaching quality. The smooth running of the school depends mainly on the role played by the school board of education. The introduction of the reform -L.O.G.S.E. ( 1990 )- has given rise again to a serious discussion on the function of the school board of education.
