Abstract

In this Doctoral Thesis, an interpretation of a corpus of three novels is proposed: The sand child (1985), The sacred night (1987) and Leaving Tangier (2006) by the famous Franco-Maroccan writer Tahar Ben Jelloun based on the analysis of the enigmas of his writing. It is a research work whose objective is the decipherment of the common characteristics as well as the differences and strategies that the author consciously puts into practice in the process of his writing to present the stories of these three works in a mysterious way. This study is divided into four main points: the first, aimed at analysing the term enigma and its definition; the second, focused on the study of the enigmas of his writing; the third, aimed at carrying out a psychological analysis of the characters and the fourth, dedicated to the narrative space.
