Resumen

Once conquered the Alto Guadalquivir, since 1212, by Fernando III ‘s tropos, the territory kept organized in different administrative and political districts. In some cases, they were organized following the own guideline of the Castilian crown in the north of the peninsula, carving out a Concejo de Villa y Tierra. In other cases, given large areas of land to the Órdenes Militares, or to lay or ecclesiastical gentlemen, defining wide territorial or juridictional manors. Baeza will remain included inside of the Concejo de Realengo, it will have under its alfoz a series of small villages and other less populated nucleus, where castles, towers and watchtowers were included. The purpose of the present work is explaining way how this alfoz was managed, archaelogically documenting having as a basis point all the historical documentation. Along with this, will be achieved an extensive graphic documentation by using new technologies and Geographical Information Systems.
