Fibromyalgia or Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a chronic pain condition of unknown aetiology and pathophysiology that predominates mainly in women, characterised by diffuse, generalised and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal pain that is also accompanied by symptoms such as morning stiffness, fatigue, emotional alterations such as anxiety and depression, sleep disturbances and cognitive impairment. The main objective of this Doctoral Thesis was to analyse in depth the neuropsychological alterations present in fibromyalgia, taking into account clinical variables such as the intensity of clinical pain, comorbid psychopathology, the intensity of the emotional states of anxiety and depression, the level of fatigue, sleep disorders, the type of medication taken, and the body mass index (BMI) as possible explanatory factors for these alterations.
