Abstract

In this paper we are going to consider that the social and migratory policies imposed by the Empire of Carlos I had an enormous impact on the concrete and local reality of the Kingdom of Jaén during the period 1,500 to 1,550, and also that these were based on the proposals of peace and unity of Erasmus of Rotterdam for Europe. We set ourselves, among other objectives, to specify the impact of the social and migratory policies imposed by Carlos I in the Kingdom of Jaén during the first half of the 16th century. Hence, the object of study, in a second moment, would be determined by determining both the foreign and domestic policy proposed by Carlos I, through the analysis of migrant data, the description of the most relevant events and the analysis of the significance of these policies in this a specific area such as the Kingdom of Jaén.
