This doctoral thesis proposes a series of optimization methodologies in order to achieve the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) such as energy storage systems (batteries or supercapacitors), electric vehicles (EV) and renewable sources of distributed generation (DG), in direct current (DC), alternating current (AC) and AC-DC distribution networks. The integration of DERs, EVs and DGs in distribution networks generates mathematical models of a nonlinear nature, that is, Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP). For this reason, the reformulation of these complex mathematical models is proposed by means of two different methodologies: convex methodology and master-slave methodology to determine their optimal solution.
