Abstract

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is an orofacial condition caused by disorders of the temporomandibular joint, masticatory musculature and other nearby structures. The diagnostic tools for TMD are extensive and complex to implement which makes the diagnostic process difficult, so the aim of the study is to validate more effective tools. The Helkimo Clinical Dysfunction Index and the Krogh- Poulsen Test are two simple and quick to implement TMD diagnostic tools that have been evaluated and validated correctly in the present study. The results were satisfactory and thus the main objective of the study has been satisfied.
