Resumen

The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to argue the capacity of play-based learning and gamification to create educational experiences that, on the one hand, are significant in their learning process and, on the other hand, are motivating through playful designs for the students of the faculties of Education Sciences. The compendium of publications includes four articles: the first article consists of a narrative review on playful strategies and their relationship with motivational variables, the second exposes the results of the application of a practical learning program based on play, and the third performs a qualitative analysis on the gamified program "Super Profes", the fourth shows a case study on a training course in educational escape rooms within an academic master's degree, and finally a book chapter where the results of a gamified practice in social education are exposed.
