Zusammenfassung

Accessibility is an indispensable tool to achieve an inclusive society. Such a society has evolved over time, adapting to the social changes that have occurred. Traditionally associated with the elimination of architectural barriers, today, the discourse of universal accessibility goes beyond the so-called physical accessibility or urban planning, since it contemplates a multitude of variables that affect the lives of people so that they can be achieved by all. This analysis aims to review the evolution of accessibility from its origins to the present, trying to comprehend its characteristics, to link it with social innovation as an allied tool, in order to contribute to the achievement of an accessible and inclusive society for all people, where the diversity that characterizes the human being is appreciated as an added value. The focus adopted is one of Social Work as a promoter of social welfare and quality of life of the citizenship. A triangulated multi-method methodological strategy was applied integrating historical, quantitative and qualitative approaches.
