Resum

Objective: Child-to-parent violence (CPV) is one of the three types of domestic violence, which has been dramatically increased in the last three lustrums. In the study of youthviolence, the parental attachment style, or the emotional and affective link, establishedbetween the child and their main caregiver, which seems to be related to the appearanceof prosocial behaviors when it is safe and secure, has been receiving more attentionrecently. with developing antisocial behaviors when insecure. However, there are still notenough studies that provide information in the field of CPV and less, in the forensicpopulation. The objective of this study was to analyze differences in parental attachmentstyles between three groups of adolescents: offenders with a crime of family abuse (orCPV), offenders with other crimes and non-offenders or a control group. Method: Thesample consisted of 178 adolescents (64.6% boys) from the provinces of Jaen andCórdoba (Spain), aged between 12 and 20 years (Mage = 15.65; SD = 1.71). Results:Significant differences were found between the three groups in secure attachment, beingthe CPV group the one with the lowest scores in this attachment style. On the other hand, significant differences are found between the two groups of offenders and the group ofnon-offenders in all insecure attachment styles. Conclusions: These results obtainedshowed the need for further research on the type of affective bond between the abusiveadolescent and his main caregivers, and the degree of deterioration, in order to implementfuture research as well as intervention programs.
