Abstract
The work of Miguel Fuentes del Olmo was a pioneer in the introduction of Informalism into the plastic arts in Andalusia. His collaboration with the architect José Jiménez Jimena in the work studied in this book contributed to establishing an icon of 20th century artistic creation in Jaén and to renewing the aesthetic panorama of the city. The monumental murals in reinforced concrete displayed at street level are a milestone in the public manifestation of sculptural abstraction, complemented by the inside paintings and ceramics.
