Abstract

The Building Archaeology is a discipline ever more in demand in the investigation of historic buildings, since it allowsfor a type of study which has become essential before initiating a restoration. For this reason, in a moment when theconservation of buildings is clearly gaining importance, this field has a promising future for professional development. However, one of the inherent problems of teaching this discipline is the possibility for the student to engage in practicalinternships during the academic period, and how to evaluate these objectively. Among the existing difficulties are thoserelated with having the required elements to carry out the practical work. In particular, finding adequate faces to carryout lectures, and having the photometric documents upon which to do them. Some of the causes of these problems areoutlined in this article, as well as some of the measures adopted in the last few years by the University of Jaen to solvethem; measures closely related to the investigation.
