Zusammenfassung

Objective: To determine the aging (half-life) of the nursing periodic sources quoted in journal's articles. Methods: Retrospective study based on the analysis of the quotations from articles of 33 nursing journals from the Spanish and Portuguese linguistic area. The aging for each source journal and for each quoted nursing journal was calculated. Results: The aging of the nursing periodic sources was of 6 years. For the nursing journals from Spanish and Portuguese linguistic area was of 5 years and for the rest was of 7 years. Conclusions: The Latin American area, especially Brazil, uses more obsolete sources than the Spanish area. In general, on the contrary we could expect, the specialized clinical journals don't show an use of up-to-date sources that the rest of nursing journals.
