Resumen

Heel pain is a common complaint in the current population, being one of the most common causes of plantar fasciitis, a condition that affects 10% of the population. The plantar fascia has an important role in supporting the arch and foot biomechanics. This structure is subjected to continuous stress, when a greater biasing resistance of this structure appear microtears of the fascia, thereby cycle repair, healing and fracture .. The term plantar fasciitis in chronic variant is incorrect from a histological perspective because in reality from 3 weeks of onset of pain box, there are the classic components of inflammation and if we can find a degeneration fascia and therefore more correct term would be the plantar fasciosis. This study will make a review of the pathology, risk factors, prevention and treatment of major plantar fasciosis.
