Abstract
Objective: to locate the authors and the most quoted articles from the Spanish and Portuguese linguistic area, by the Spanish nursing magazines. Methods: longitudinal, bibliographical, retrospective study, based on the analysis of the bibliographical quotations in 20 Spanish nursing magazines published in 2002. Results: From the 606 articles revised, 160 quotations to articles from the Spanish and Portuguese linguistic area were found in the period 2000-2002. 68, 74% are occasional. From the articles that have received more than two quotations (n=17), 53% are original. Eleven authors/groups of consolidated research have been found among the most quoted articles. Conclusions: The nurses from the Spanish and Portuguese linguistic area quote few articles of nursing magazines from their own area. It is estimated that only between 2, 51% and 3, 71% of the articles susceptible to be quoted published between 2000-2002 received some quotations from 20 Spanish source magazines. The profile of the most quoted author would be that of a Spanish author who takes part of a consolidated research group, maintains a line of consolidated research and publishes an original article in a Spanish nursing magazine with a high Immediate Repercussion.
