Resumen

Este artículo pretende dotar del interés debido a los aspectos de Kosovo que no se ponen inmediatamente de manifiesto en el estudio de la estricta actualidad. Aunque las causas de la guerra de finales de los noventa deban verse a la luz de los sucesos y los actores principales de las dos décadas precedentes, la grieta étnica sobre la que estalló el conflicto tiene tal vez orígenes que se remontan a la época anterior a la ocupación otomana. Ambas partes, apoyadas en su literatura y su doctrina, se disputan la verdad sobre hechos históricos que fueron usados para justificar las políticas de ambos bandos durante el conflicto
