Elaboración y validación de un instrumento para medir conocimientos de la persona cuidadora en prevención de úlceras por presiónn

Abstract

Pressure ulcers are a serious public health problem, not only in Spain but also in the rest of developed countries. Fa-mily Health Carers play an important role in prevention and therefore a high level of knowledge is desired. The lacks of specific questionnaires that measure the level of knowledge of carers of high-risk patients justify this research. The objectives are:To elaborate and validate a specific questionnaire on prevention of pressure ulcers for carers of depen-dant patients. The research phases should be as follow: to identify dominions, listing of items, validation by experts and validation of content. Fields test on a sample carers; this will establish the reliability and validity of the question-naire, allowing us to elaborate the final version of such instrument. For posterior analysis, a methodology validation of questionnaires should be used. The resulting questionnaire from the exploratory analysis, called COCU-UPP-12, has proven validity and content. It consists in four dimension or factors and three answering options.
