Abstract

The formation of teachers centres in Andalusia began twenty years ago, and it is now important to analyse the present day situation. This analysis takes the form of a case study of one teachers centre, namely Jaen Teachers Centre. The first part of this analysis looks at the implementation of the aims of the II Plan Andaluz de Formación Permanente del Profesorado (II Andalusian Teachers Training Plan) and the specific actions taken related to this plan. The second part involves a double aim (a) to show the state of reflection and discussion of the training team and (b) to define the proposals of action necessary to face the new challenges brought about by the convergence of European educational policies. The role that teachers centres play between research and practice is a central axis in the final reflection of this article.
