Abstract

In this essay I have tried to analyze the evolution of both the variables regarding the university productive activities -such as the demand for higher education degrees, the existing degree catalogues, the human resources domain, etc.- and the financial behaviours of the different educational authorities -in the framework of any given Autonomous Region- in order to satisfy the demands deriving from the development of public presential universities from 1996 to 2004. The research that has been carried out in this field proves that, on the one side, there is a frequent lack of coordination among the different representatives in charge of developing and implementing the university degree catalogues and, on the other side, there is also a lack of objective and clear criteria when deciding and allocating the amounts of public financing funds to the institutions in charge of serving the university communities.
