Abstract

The work I present a theoretical review is part of the doctoral thesis I am doing today. It aims to identify and analyze cases of academic failure experienced by the different actors in order to understand and figure out the possible liability of the school itself and the teacher, to support us in learning from experience, deriving improvement actions. To achieve this goal one of the essential steps is to be aware of the great influence that the school and teachers to reduce school failure, one of the main objectives to be achieved in our educational system. Thus, this phenomenon is directly related to the acquisition of basic skills. These being introduced into the curriculum with the intention of providing a quality education that trains citizens to interact in today's society (Bolívar and Pereyra, 2006).
