Resumen

The general purpose was to check the incidence of the rules modifications on the learning process in badminton. To respond it, three specific objectives were established. First, to analyze the scientific production in the sport of badminton. Secondly, to design and validate an observational instrument which allows coaches and researches to reliably, objectively and accurately analyze technical and tactical actions in singles badminton. By last, to check the incidence of the rules modifications on the learning process in badminton by reducing the court dimensions and the net height, also observing the differences with the current U-11 competition in some technical and tactical variables. The results indicated that modifying the court dimensions and the net height increases the frequency and variability of strokes and play patterns, introducing quantifiable changes considered beneficial in training stages. In addition, it could provide valuable information to use the most appropriate methodology in training, as well as to face the competition in a more productive way.
