Abstract

Humanity is immersed in a limit moment in which it can successfully face the greatest challenge of its time, climate change. In December 2019, the so-called " European Green Deal " was launched within the European Union. In addition to the increase in greenhouse gas emissions, the increase in industrial activity increases the amount of waste generated, most of which is disposed of in landfills. This Doctoral Thesis investigates the possibility, under the concept of Circular Economy, of improving circularity in the cement manufacturing industry through the valorization of industrial by-products as raw materials in the manufacture of innovative low-energy cements. This type of cements, known as belite cements, is associated with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions during their manufacture. In addition, waste management software called Reliqua has been developed.
