Aproximación al análisis del impacto económico del turismo en Úbeda y Baeza tras su declaración como Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Abstract

In 2013 they have completed ten years of the World Heritage designation of Úbeda and Baeza. After this period of time, this should have been a change in the image of this tourist destination, which should have been translated, according to the literature, an increase in tourism and, consequently, the impact of this on the economy of both cities. The objective of this work is to evaluate whether the declaration of Úbeda and Baeza as World Heritage Cities has been an increase in economic impact generated by tourism in the destination. To do this, we analyze the evolution of the main tourist magnitudes of these cities over the last decade, concluding that, indeed, there has been an increase in direct economic impact generated by tourism in these cities, which is explained mainly by an increase in average daily spending.
