Abstract

This article analyses the importance of verbal aspects of courtly behavior, focusing on “Belianís de Grecia”, a chivalry novel written by Jerónimo Fernández. This study determines the main features of courtly verbal expression and shows that –just as those mentioned in Castiglione’s book– these features derived from medieval courtoisie.
